Injection Teaching and Support
Most patients with HCV take combination therapy for almost a full year (48 weeks). Therapy includes a weekly self-injection of the interferon medication and daily oral ribavirin tablets or capsules.
To help you feel more comfortable and at-ease with preparing and injecting your medication, Prosperity Specialty Pharmacy is the only specialty pharmacy in the area to offer individual injection teaching sessions and support services. We have private, comfortable injection teaching rooms, where you can learn – at your own pace – how to prepare the materials and correctly administer your HCV medications.
Patients meet one-on-one with a trained pharmacist or nurse from Prosperity Specialty Pharmacy and we ensure that when you leave our pharmacy, you are ready to administer your medications at home.
This customized training session also gives the clinical pharmacist the opportunity to discuss your therapy with you in detail and to answer any questions you may have about the medication, potential side effect management, or any other concerns. Your clinical pharmacist can help you find the balance you need in order to maintain a holistic approach to wellness.
