FLU SHOT PROGRAM:

Prosperity Pharmacy provides flu and pneumococcal shots in medical offices, care facilities, senior centers, hospitals, churches, work-sites, grocery stores, schools, and practically anywhere in Northern Virginia that people wish to get a Flu Shot.

  • Prosperity Pharmacy has been providing child and adult immunizations in the community for the past 5 years. During this time we have safely provided thousands of immunizations.
  • Multiple studies have clearly indicated the cost/benefit ratio of providing flu vaccinations to working adults.

Medicare coverage

  • The influenza and pneumococcal vaccines are covered by Medicare. Prosperity Pharmacy files claims to Medicare on behalf of patients and accepts complete payment from Medicare.
  • Prosperity Specialty Pharmacy also accepts all major insurance plans and is able to bill vaccinations when covered.

 

Professional Standards:

  • Prosperity Pharmacy uses only licensed pharmacists and interns, RNs & LPN’s, to administer immunizations.
  • Prosperity Pharmacy offers flu vaccinations to all persons age 18 and older and children 5-18 with a doctor’s prescription wishing to reduce their risk of contracting influenza.
  • Our Immunization Protocol follows CDC Guidelines and is physician-approved.

 

 

FAQ's for Flu Clinics for Businesses: 2009-2010 Season

Question: How much will the vaccination cost?
Answer:
  • $25 for injection (if more than 30 participants)
  • $33 for nasal vaccine

Question: What should I expect?
Answer: Prosperity Pharmacy will positively provide consistent, timely communication with each site from scheduling to the final customer service call. Prosperity Pharmacy’s operation methods are proven to produce successful events. We provide a “hands-off” approach, which is designed to make your life easier.

 

  • Prosperity Pharmacy will set up and run the entire process
  • A room or designated area is needed to perform your clinic
  • Tables and chairs will be needed for vaccine administration; quantity depends on the expected size of your clinic
  • Prosperity Pharmacy will have and provide everything else needed for your clinic

Question: How long will the clinic take?
Answer: The time for your clinic to take place will depend on the expected participation of your clinic. A standard clinic is typically around two to four hours

Question: Who can get a flu shot at our clinic event?
Answer: Almost anyone will be able to receive a vaccination at your clinic event.

Question: Then who can’t get a flu shot at our event?
Answer: In general, there are only a few individuals who should not get a flu shot:

 

  • Anyone allergic to chicken eggs or sensitive to sulfites
  • Someone who has a fever or an acute infection
  • Anyone who has ever had a severe reaction to the flu shot
  • Pregnant women in the first trimester

Question: Why should we participate in this program?
Answer: There are many reasons to have a flu clinic event at your business!
Here are several notable reasons:

 

  • The CDC and ACIP have recommended adults 18 years and older receive the flu shot.
  • It’s a painless way to prevent employee absences due to influenza.

Question: When should we have our clinic?
Answer: Any time in October, November and December

Question: How do people sign up?
Answer: There are several ways someone can sign up to participate in your clinic event. The best way is to sign up for the flu shot using a signup sheet (see attached.) This will allow the participant the ability to:

 

  • Register for a specific appointment time
  • Complete a waiver form in advance to speed up the process
